Sendmail Relay Access

I'm trying to configure sendmail so that my friend can access it from 
the 'net.

I read in the docs that you can put the persons email address in the 
'access'
file and then enable FEATURE(`relay_mail_from') in sendmail.mc.

Well, I did all this (ran m4, and makemap, etc.), but I'm still getting the
relay denied error message when we try to send mail from his address.

Is there something else I need to tweak to get this working?
