newbie ?

I just got my copy of YDL 2.3 and am trying to install it on my iBook 
SE. I will only use YDL on this machine no Mac OS at all. How do I 
partition the drive? I cannot seem to grasp it from the YDL 
instructions. I gather it is yaboot and that's about it. Any patience, 
help and info is greatly appreciated. Again, I am posting to this list 
because the newbie list is virtually inactive.
