Yaboot Question

Dear Yellow Dog Linux Mailing List,
I emailed the list about two weeks ago regarding an error with the
installation on a drive (MSDOS partition tables). I resolved that (couldn't
get a Mac OS CD or boot CD so I stuck the HDD into a friend's B&W G3 and
initializing it) but now after the install, I can't load X. Well first off
I should mention that I had to do a install-text-safe (YDL 2.2; can't find 3
cheap online) because the gui install gave me the exact distorted output I'm
getting now. It has a ATi Radeon All-in-one which I guess was stock (handed
down Mac).
If I load the linux-novideo kernel and then run "/usr/lib/dexter.py"
choosing the failsafe option, I can load X. Now my question is how can I
get Yaboot to load the "linux-novideo" kernel (which upon booting loads x
automatically and functionally) automatically? I've tried playing around
with the "/etc/yaboot.conf" file a bit (I'm a Linux Newbie used to GRUB) but
with no success. In fact I messed with it so bad, it said something about
corrupt file system and wouldn't boot any kernels. I just did a reinstall
and below is my (stock) "/etc/yaboot.conf" configuration:
#yaboot options
boot=/dev/hda6
magicboot=/usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot
delay=10
defaultos=linux
enablecdboot
#yaboot options
init-message="\nWelcome to Yellow Dog Linux \n\n"
timeout=50
default=linux
partition=8
#yaboot images
image=/boot/vmlinux
label=linux
root=/dev/hda8
image=/boot/vmlinux
label=linux-novideo
root=/dev/hda8
novideo
I appreciate any help or tips. Thanks to all for your time.
