ok- ive just about reached the end of my rope.
i've been attempting to install YDL 3.0 on a 6400/180
after some rather unusual procedures i was able to get it installed
using the safe mode text installer.
linux installs and runs, but i cant get x up and running.
i've been working with Kai Staats and hes run out of ideas- and
suggested i post this here:

any ideas?
i've tried the onboard video anyway i can.
i even tried dropping in a voodoo 32316 pci video card..
still no go- x crashes Quite miserably.
linux loves the firewire card, and the 10/100 nic presently occupying
the 2 pci slots.
i've even stripped the thing down to its shipping configuration and
reinstalled.
same result.
any suggestions would be welcome as i've been working on this for about
3 weeks now..
