YDL 3 install not finding Xserve HD

I'm installing YDL 3 on a Xserve Dual 1.3 ghz G4 system..  I get an
error in that at the start of the installation it doesn't find the hard
disk.  This is before it gets to the VGA setup walk through.  During the
text mode.

Anyone know of a workaround to this problem?
Is it an issue with the Promise raid card??
If so, which is only my guess, is there a way to by pass it?
Is there any other way to install it?
