The root device was actually sda10 which is what i was using in the =
bootx /dev/ option and not HDA8 as I had incorrectly stated in previous =
post. Thanks for the tip anyway.

hda usually denotes the internal ata bus. Since your using SCSI trying
changing the bootx pref to sda8.
