Hi Thierry,

Apologies for the other email I just sent accidentally before writing the response shown below....

Thanks once again for your help...although that's not the answer I wanted to hear!!... ;-) Starting to understand the quote in your signature!!

While I can see both my OS9 and OSX drive partitions on the desktop in OS9, I can't do anything in OS9 as my trackball button and keyboard button clicks don't work now. Don't know why that is.

So if I can find a way to work in OS9, I could do what you say and copy my important files over from the OSX partition to the OS9 partition....

Any suggestions anyone??

Thanks,

Mark

But you can't start OS X? Sounds to me as an HFS problem. I had this
recently
on a firewire drive formated half ext3 and half hfs (for transfer
purposes).
And suddenly My Macs saw only one partition (and refudes to mount it at
that!).

The sad news is that I solved it by reformating (but there was nothing
vital
on these partitions so I did not look for another solution.

Anyway, does your OS X partition show under OS 9? If yes, you can at least

save your data. If no, you might try booting from the install CD and see
if
your OS X partition shows. If even that fails, I see no other option but
reinstalling.

Thierry
