Konstruct Compile Error: Suggestions

Hi,

Using konstruct to download and compile KDE 3.1, I receive the following
error message:

configure: error: Fast malloc is not supported on this platform (missing
spinlock implementation).

Doesn't this refer to an Intel machine? The compiler recognizes a PPC
machine, so what's up with this error message? Do I need to edit a
specific file to remove references to fast malloc? If so, which file?

Any hints or tips you could offer would be great. Thanks.
