Problem w/ PowerMac G4 install

I am attempting to set up a dual-boot system on a new Quicksilver?
model. First I replaced the video card with an older supported ATI
card.  I have split the disk in two and installed OS_X on the second
half of the disk. The first part of the disk is unallocated. Now I am
attempting to install YDL from the current 2.3 ISO image.  The installer
fails due to a a partitioning error. I receive a dialog box stating that
"no hard disks were found". Has anybody seen this? Any ideas? Thanks in
