Hi all
This is related to missing driver support in the regular boot kernel. Ths
instructions on <http://www.macgix.com/ydl3oldworld.html> should help you by
choosing another kernel for the beige G3 Mac. You may have to try several
kernels by booting with BootX until you are able to boot linux.
HINT: I have an SONNET Ultra-ATA 100 PCI card running in a G3 beige and
installing YDL on the 40 GB IDE Maxtor drive works fine. Such a disk and a
card like this aren't to expensive. Maybe a hard drive upgrade could be a
good idea to workaround the problem and get more drive space easily.
Cheers,
Thomas
