YDL 3.0 disk won't boot

Hello Terrasoft,
I have purchased and just received the set of YDL 3.0 CDROMS.
When I tried to start my iMac (dating from October, 2002) with the n=B01 disk=
,
it just did not boot: there was a *PINK* penguin logo, and then some text
ending with "you can safely reboot your machine". Of course, it was not
true: the only way to get out was to power off.
Please advise me. Could it be a bad disk?
