installer quits not finding a file

a while ago i wrote about trying to install YDL 3.0 on  a mac 9600 w/ 
sonnet G3 400mhz card. anaconda quits saying the .discinfo file is 
missing  -- it is there, however.
tried a couple new iso burns, md5 checksummed correctly (using a 
winmd5sum app in virtual pc ! is there a mac app i can do that in?)
some other people wrote saying that they had the same problem, and 
apparently it's showing up on RedHat installs (according to list 
activity)
still having this problem. no install. anaconda quits in different 
places, but with the same error. sometimes it quits on the install of 
a perl lib, sometimes on emacs, sometimes on httpd - whatever.. some 
rpm. anyway, here's the traceback as best as i can read my 
handwriting (! couldn't copy it to anywhere, it terminates.)

anybody????

cannot be opened  missing file, bad package or bad media
