YDL on Xserve

I have gotten YDL 3.0 to boot on the new Xserve machines, the ones with =
the new Promise ATA controller.


First of all, thanks to the YDL team for putting this together and being =
so dedicated to getting the problem resolved!

Second, I have 2 things that I'm seeing, one related to the Xserve, and =
one related to the Radeon video card.

The first thiung I've noticed is that the CPU fans run at a normal =
speed, but then surge up for about 15 seconds, every 10 minutes or so.  =
I'm not sure if that's some kind of hardware backup in case some piece =
of SW does not regulate the fan speed based on temperature, or =
what...has any one with the Xserve seen this?


Second, I can't get X running, because the radeon_drv.o driver has =
unsatisfied symbols when X tries to use it.  What is the problem here?  =
Are the driver and the version of X that I have incompatible?

This is a set of ISOs I downloaded over the weekend specifically to =
address the Xserve problem.  Linux is up, so if I can get an RPM to fix =
this, I can go that route, instead of starting from ISOs.

I don't really need X for what I'm doing, but it does make admin much =
easier!
