Kaz,

ieee1394 installs automatically whn you install ohci1394. The module
raw1394 was for use with gscanbus. Can't get YDL to recognise /dev/sda
nor /dev/sga. The same site that said the Formac works great under
linux also suggested to enter the line:

echo ',' | sfdisk /dev/sda

at the command prompt to try to mount a single partition on the disk.
Can't find sfdisk, so I assume it could be substituted with pdisk. I
got an error saying /dev/sda (also /dev/sga) did not exist. The cables
are securely plugged in and the drive is on. Also, the drive was
working fine under OS X before I loaded YDL, so I know that it is ok.
Is there a step that I possibly missed?
