This is a rather problematic statement. If you have a private local
network NOT connected to the Internet, then the year is 1978. And its
not. Any boxes that can be accessed from the Internet can be hacked.
After hacking, a packet sniffer is installed and Voila! All password
being tossed around the network are there for the hackers enjoyment.

All 50 of our internal servers run SSH. Telnet is left on, but only for
emergencies (i.e., when SSH somehow fails).
