Really Sorry:
the nibblers were found to be nibbling DEADBEEF (actually they were 
sitting on a syslog) and the big-endian expired  because it got DEAD 
and the little-endian got EFBE (and was very full because everyone 
knows that ones are more filling than zeros) but neither cared because 
of the 50% BER
