Hi everyone,
I got my shiny new G5 on Wednesday and it boots YDL without trouble
(other than complaining about missing HID -- I'm not sure why since the
mouse and keyboard work?). The problem is with X11. I can't get the
resolution right.

When it came to me, it started up in (IIRC) 1024x768 with 8-bit
color. I went to 16-bit and also told the display app that I had a Dell
1226H series monitor (19", works fine with x86 GNU/Linux). When I
restarted X, it gave me 640x480 with a 1024x768 virtual desktop size
(where you can "scroll around"). So, I fiddled with it some more and
lost X completely.

Then I tried XFree86's autoconfigure command to build a new
XF86Config. No dice, I got 640x480 again. It seems like whenever I try
to go to 1024x768 now it just gets a blank screen.

This system has a Radeon 9800 (using fbdev). Any ideas?

   Thanks,
        Tim
