AFIK, the anaconda installer is bound with it's boot environment, you need
to get the environment going before anaconda will do something with/in it.
That said, there's no reason why you can't take the YDL CD1 and copy it
over to an empty partition, chroot into and then run yum to install the
packages you want or possibly get anaconda running once chrooted.
