Yum weirdness

Hello list,

Today I tried to run "yum update", but it didn't succeed.

Apparently there is an update available for ddd (new 3.3.7-1, installed
3.3.1-19)

While checking for dependencies, yum exits with the following error message:

.package ddd needs libelf.so.1 (not provided)


When I check my system, libelf.so.1 indeed is not available (I have
libelf.so.0.8.2).

So I try to update libelf via yum, guess what: yum return with
libelf is installed and the latest version.


So what's going on here ? Is this a packaging error at Terra Soft ? Or
is yum corrupted ? Or am I missing some yum repositories (I have base
and updates in my yum.conf) ?

Hope someone sheds some light on this.
