iMac 17" 1Ghz XF86Config

Im having some trouble getting YDL 3.01 to display X
windows properly on my 1Ghz 17" imac G4.

If I select all the proper hardware in the Anaconda
installation all goes smoothly and I can get YDL up
and running, but no matter what I do I can only get X
server to display at 1024x768 which leaves black bars
at the top and to the side of my screen.

I tried the following changes to my XF86Config File
with no luck:

Under monitors:
Modeline "1440x900" 129.73 1440 1480 1616 1848 900 903
906 936

Under Screen - Modes
"1440x900"


I am not really sure what else to try. Any attempt to
use other video or display settings results in X
server being unable to start up. I can actually select
the 1440x900 as an option in the KDE display settings
but it doesn't do anything. This is somewhat
discouraging as it makes linux painful to use with a
third of my screen out of commission.
