Curious.

I've tried building xmms-1.2.10-1.1.fr.src.rpm from FreshRPMS
and it also segfaults on start, as did several from Fedora Core
distros.

The one that does work is

http://www.rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/falsehope/pub/xmms/xmms-1.2.10 
-1.src.html

but this version lacks mp3 support due to licensing.
