HELP: YDL4 + G4 Silver + Radeon: X broken

O.k., I tried the following combinations:

* driver "radeon", option "UseFBDev" "true":
  doesn't work with 8, 16, and 24 bpp (message "no screens found")

* driver "radeon", no option "UseFBDev":
  doesn't work with 8, 16, and 24 bpp ("no screens found" again)

* driver "fbdev":
  doesn't work with 8, 16, and 24 bpp (message "FBDEV(0):
  xf86RegisterResources() found resource conflicts").

So I'm really lost here.

BTW, I don't think that this is actually an xorg problem, as at least one  
of the configs (radeon, UseFBDev true, 24 bpp) above works fine with  
kernel 2.4.25. Therefore, I assume that there is some problem in X11/ 
kernel interaction.
