Hi Andrew: 
If you check out the Garnome FAQ page they are quite clear that their
work is optimized for Intel.  In this case, it won't matter if they
provide the source as that source is looking for Intel and PC specific
hardware.  Unfortunately, not everyone's conception of "open source"
means including open to the PPC architecture.  

There is a work-around this problem but before you travel that road,
consider that you may want to keep your YDL installation pristine and
add to it via yum as opposed to gutting it.  The installation provided
by TerraSoft is difficult to find at all, let alone replace without
yum's functionality.
