Your Honest opinion

As others pointed out this is a loaded question.

For what it is worth, I have worked on OSs for a long time, and even worked
on Windows NT up through Windows 2000 (but never Win9x).

Anyways, the best OS is the on that lets you run the applications you want
on the hardware you have.

I love YellowDog and here is why. It runs on my original Bondi iMac. I don't
think OS X will based on my interpretation of the specs, although to be
honest I have never tried. I could buy more memory for it, but putting
memory in the original iMacs is a pain. It isn't the cost, opening the box
isn't even to bad, but getting it all back in is a pain.

YellowDog makes the hardware in my old iMac hum. It has good applications
that I can use to get the work I want done, quickly, safely and reliably. So
I am a big fan of YellowDog, and wearing its hat and T-shirt around Redmond
is fun.

Hopefully they will continue to support this older hardware, something most
OS companies abandon as the chase the newest hardware.

Michael
