Yum error

I agree here. I think Fedora won't work out-of-the-box. I've tried to
install Fedora Core 2 PPC and failed. I was encouraged by this article
http://osdir.com/Article833.phtml where it said it could be done.

I managed to download the whole RPMS dir (almost 2 gigs, several
hours...), copied it over an NFS volume on a Mac OS X box, burned an
ISO boot image for PPC, managed to boot 1st stage, select NFS as
startup method, booted 2nd stage (in X GUI), selected keyboard, mouse,
screen, partitioned with Druid, selected packages, started installation
and... failed miserably.
By comparison, installing Gentoo is a picnic.

The installer said something about a missing package, although the
package WAS there. After several (unsuccessful) tries I abandoned the
whole thing.

Bottom line, leave this stuff to the Pros. I'll sit and wait to see
what the guys at Terrasoft come with in YDL v4. I guess that by this
time, they've already figured out how to make Fedora work on PPC
(although it must not have been that easy for them, either, according
to the rumours, they would have had it ready by mid-June).
