aMSN, tls, messenger

Hi

I like to use Alvaro's messenger client, aMSN.

It runs on mac osx, windows, linux... . Indeed it also runs with
no problem at all on YDL except that ... in order to chat with
a hotmail account, it needs to install a certain module called
tls. I have not succeeded in getting this to work. One can
download the source code for tls but at the first ./configure
I get messages I don't understand about openssl being missing.

Anyone out there tried this, had success, useful tips ..?
