Jim,
You can use any editor - pico, nano - whatever you're most comfortable
using. You'll need to be in 'root mode' to edit the file, so type "su"
and enter your root password.
There are just a few lines in your X config file which applies directly
to your Mac. You want to find the name of your video card (for
instance, mine is the ATI Rage Pro 128), and the horizontal and
vertical sync rates. This can all be found simply through the "System
Profiler" in Applications/Utilities (if you are using Mac OS X.)
Another simple way to get that info is check your X config file from
your working YDL installation. You can also ask others on the list who
have a similar system as yours for their X configuration. Good luck!
