If you look at this howto from TSS, you will see that you have to have
the 3.0.1 kernel which is 2.4.22-2g to use hfsplus.

Try adding another line to your /etc/yum.conf for this repository.
http://ydl.oregonstate.edu/yum/3.0.1/update/
That will make yum see the 3.0.1 updates and get the new kernel for
you. Then you can use hfs+.
