In addition to David's suggestion, you could mount the Windows music
directory as a SAMBA share on the YDL laptop. Then xmms (or your
favorite music program) would see it as a local directory).

To install a hard drive in a Wallstreet PowerBook required a Phillips
screwdriver (not unusual) and a T-8 torx driver (rarer -- most socket
sets stop at the T-10 size). There are a number of take apart guides
available on the Internet.
