Look at the man page for the "df" command. I am not at Linux right now,
but on Mac OS X the command "df -h" gives disk usage in "human readable"
form (it defaults to "blocks," that are 512 bytes rather than the more
readable 1024 bytes in a MB).
Also, the nice folks at O'Reilly have made a wonderful Linux command
