Linux Email Client that works with "Exchange Mail"

YES!  Vituperate!  I haven't heard that word since college when I
wrote a paper for English and I butchered the queen's vernacular.  It
was no "agreeance" ala Fred Durst.  

I'm reading about Pine as I write this and looks like it needs the
server to allow IMAP.  Our IT guys are adamantly opposed to doing
this.  As a matter of fact they're a little perturbed about my
erasing Win XP and loading a different distro of linux on my work
laptop. <--Must have been a virus ;)
