YDL 3.0.1 installation and black screen

i just finished a week-long (!!!) install of ydl on the same machine.  
it's all about the firmware.  unless you've performed an upgrade to the 
latest 4.x version of the open firmware for your machine, ydl will 
haunt you.  you can find updaters on the apple site, but be aware that 
they'll only run from os9 booted as startup, not just in classic from x.

once you've installed the firmware update, everything should play along 
quite nicely.
