Personally, I actually PREFER to work in KDE3.2 rather than OSX.  KDE3.2 with 
the new Plastik theme is IMO every bit as beautiful as Aqua and about 10 
gazillion times faster.  So for me, the problem isn't really Linux . It's YDL 
with it's absurdly outdated packages and broken apt-get and rpm dependency 
hell.  My Debian (x86) box is a dream... gives me that same "just works" 
peace of mind that OSX does, but without all the bloat.  I gotta confess 
though, I do love Apple.. they've really raised the bar for UI designers 
everywhere.
