pDisk Partitioning Question

When I first got my 60GB IDE drive I set aside large partition (9GB) for a
linux installation and left it due to a hectic schedule. Now I am getting
around to it and I need to know if I can use pdisk to re-partition this
large partition (which has no data on it whatsoever) into several smaller
partitions without reformatting. I have read in another newsgroup that it is
possible but I would like to get some feedback from this group before I take
the plunge. I have alot of data in the other partitions and am concerned
abhout data integrity and cannot simply reformat due to the amount of data.
If this is possible, some recommendations on how best to use this very large
partition well and/or similar experience stories would be appreciated.
