The 23" Apple Studio is an LCD, right? I have a 17" LCD display on a G4
Cube and can't get it to work under X. It works in character mode just
fine. I've searched the HOWTOs and the forums. None of the suggestions
worked. For example, one suggestion was to run 'fbset' to change the
display parameters. When I ran it, there were no error messages. But,
checking the values showed that nothing changed. I.e.:

I also put video=aty128fb:vmode:14 into the boot options to correspond
to the above fbset mode. No dice.
