YDL dot NET enhanced query

YDL.net enhanced has been a disappointment for me. I purchased it in
hopes of:

1) Supporting a good small US-based company that makes good reliable software.
2) Getting a look at interesting pre-release software for PPC Linux.
3) Getting high-quality support for my (very) occasional Linux-related problems.
4) Getting better download bandwidth and more reliable repository servers.
5) Getting a chance to exchange news, views, and usage-hints with a
select group of high-end PPC Linux users.

About the only goal that has been achieved by the exercise is (1).

I still think YellowDog Linux is a great server OS and I'm still very
glad that it runs on my older Macs. And I'll still happily pay for a
batch of CD-roms when the next release of YDL comes out. But I'll also
still get my support from this list, and I'll also still do my downloads
and YUMs from a nearby mirror site -- even if it's a few days or weeks
out of date, because the "official" YDL server is terminally slow and
flakey, and the YDL.net/enhanced repo-server is mostly nonfunctional.

Sorry to be such a downer, but that's been my experience. If anybody
from Terrasoft is reading this list, I'd really like to see a response
-- especially if that response is "We acknowledge that we've had some
problems but don't loose hope! We have an action plan to make it better!"

Enjoy!

Rick
