I don't know about Darwin. I've tried both the Apple version and 
OpenDarwin and starting up KDE is incredibly slow compared to YDL or 
even Mac OSX. WindowMaker is rather quick, although it takes nearly 
forever (okay, a minute or two) to get KMail open. Maybe I need to 
reinstall.
