OT: tibook keeps making clunk sound

i think i have found that it is the dvd/cd-rw.
placing a cd in the drive has stopped the clunking but the drive is now 
spinning like there is no tommorrow...the most intense vibration is 
coming from just below the right speaker to about 2 inches from the 
forward edge.  it is humming along but i am not doing anything with the 
cd in there. i'm thinking this all started when i once tried to insert a 
cd when there was one already in there???
