Repartition or second disk

Just a thought from the sidelines:
I presume you are concerned about applications that you have installed, not just
data that has been accumulated. If that is so, then wouldn't you want to
re-install/compile them under YDL 4.0 in order to get the performance benefit of
them running 64-bit native?
I don't really understand much about compilers or the 32 to 64 bit application
conversion stuff, so I could be really off base with my comment. Personally I am
just going to back up data, perform a clean install of 4.0, then reinstall any
missing applications, then restore data.
