Hey Doug -
Once again talkin' out me arse, but what version of OF does your machine
have? I did a google/mac for your OF message and found someone with a
similar problem on the macosxhints forums:
<http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-25912.html>
but no reply for a fix.
Since you are having this issue when you boot into OF, it sounds like
something is awry with OF (which may have been the root of your original
problem). I found nada at the Apple Knowledge Base with the same search,
but that's a monolith in and of itself. Try searching there.
Also you might want to post to the yaboot ML. They can be accessed from
here:

Ethan Benson (who wrote yaboot) monitors and knows a buttload about OF.
He may be able to help out.
One last try, If you are the original owner of an old pre G series mac,
call that old tech support number. Back in the day, we had lifetime
phone support. I've actually gotten some info for my B&W from them there.
