Wouldn't you expect your performance to improve with the clock speed?

2.5GHz / 2.8GHz * 42 min = 37.5 min
2.0GHz / 2.8 GHz * 52 min = 37.1 min

This is pretty close to what you're seeing based purely on compute cycles.
