YDL 4 and partition map problems

I don't have access yet to YDL 4; however I can tell you that YDL 3 has
the capacity within the installer to set up its own partitions. I did
allow YDL 3 to set up it's own partitions and I've not had a problem
since regarding partitions anyway. Kernels and patches that's a whole
'nother topic...eeeesshhh.

It may be to your advantage to archive the files use actually use; and
follow the instructions for YDL 4 automatic partitioning; I am guessing
that the auto partitioning structure is not too different from that used
in YDL 3 whereas the manual partitioning scheme is best used or was best
used for YDL 2. YDL 3/4 are different enough from 2 to allow the
automated partition program to proceed along. There is enough radical
differences between the various incarnations of Linux that it is quite
possible that so much has improved and changed that it is really better
to hand over control to these specific programs and let them install
partition structures and other features automatically as they please.

After everything is up and running then reinstall your work files from
an external storage source.
