NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra BUG?

My G5 system (YellowDog 4.0) boots normally with monitor connected to
it. However, when booting the machine without monitor connected the
system halts.
Then I replace the display card from GeForce GX 5200 Ultra to
Radeon9600Pro, issue solved.
Is that a bug of GeForce GX 5200 Ultra?
