It works fine under OSX. You have to enable it as ZOOM Universal 56K 
modem in the configuration block of Network preferences.
This is a bit off the normal subject but for members who may be 
contemplating a faster connection:
 Direcway satellite is a bit pricey initially but I had a dedicated 
line so my monthly cost is just $17.00 more. The downloads times can be 
phenomenal, like every other pipe it can fill up at certain times of 
the day. The upload speeds while several times faster that dial-up 
don't support voice over or online gaming. To give you an example of a 
recent download--FIrefox 1.0.1 8.7 MB  1 minute, 41 seconds. I don't 
want to ever have to go back to dial-up. I live in North Central Idaho 
miles away from the closest high speed line so the Direcway was the 
only option.
