Unnecessary starters

For instance, I have a "Preferences --> Graphics --> Gnofract 4D Fractal 
Generator" starter in the GNOME menu. How do I get rid of this 
unnecessary and weirdly placed starter? And why is it there? Any way to 
prevent this from happening?
