cdrecord for audio cd

I have found the problem.

The kernel was not properly updated.
Now, with kernel 2.6.9 cdrecord goes well.

Now, the question is: why updating kernel with "rpm -i" leave yaboot.conf
unchanged?
I tried also "rpm -U" but yaboot.conf was not updated.
