Installing Linux on a Firewire drive.

Most likely the firewire drive is not mounting correctly.

There is a YDL firewire/ipod install iso on YDL.net that uses the same
graphical installer as YDL 4.0.1 and takes care of all the kernel and
mounting issues.  Might give that a try.

I've been running YDL off my iPod for a couple months now, and it still
plays music.
