rpc.mountd dies

I'm running YDL 4.0 on a G5 Xserve and using nfs to export filesystems.

After a few teething problems it is now running OK but after the system has
been
up for a while the rpc.mountd daemon dies and stops any further exports.

Has anyone else had this problem?
