YDL 4.0 on PB G4 500

I am sure that this question has popped up many, many times as I can 
see from google searches.
I, of course, am having issues with the install of YD 4.0 on my PB G4 
500 (post install crash).
Has a work around been discovered?

Also I am having issues mounting the YD disk on my G3 Lombard.  I am 
assuming that this is an issue with my HW on the older machine.  But 
just incase, has anyone seen that issue as well?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
