Permissions for CD-Writing

Well, if root priviliges are required for better writing performance, I think 
it is still better to setup a good sudo configuration than to pass the root 
password to every user.

With sudo, you can define which user can perform which actions as root, 
without the need of passing the root password. Instead the user passes his 
own password.

That's probably the safer route.
